I did these two images inspired by the social media challenge #Mermay.

I wanted to go back to the original concept: Mermaids were real beings for ancient sailors. They would appear near the shores and lure them to shipwreck. Christopher Columbus spotted three mermaids on one of his voyages, but according to his records, he didn’t find them particularly beautiful. It is believed that he might have seen manatees.
