These illustrations are inspired by Mark Twain’s book, “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”.
The images explore the relationship between Huck and Jim, as well as their journey along the Mississippi River.
In the story, daylight and the people from towns posed dangers, while the night, the river, and the raft offered safety and hope. Hence, the paintings adopt a nocturnal approach.
It was a commission made by a fan of Mark Twain’s novels.
